Christine Heinrichs has been a journalist for more than 30 years. She began her career at a daily newspaper and moved into magazine writing. She has written and edited a variety of magazines, ranging from engineering to golf. She has won awards for her business writing,

Her interest in animals continued throughout her life. One of her articles about her daughter and her horse won national recognition. She recently completed a book on "How To Raise Chickens."

She is married to an engineer, Gordon. Between them they have four children and one grandchild. They live in Madison, Wisconsin.

She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Society of Environmental Journalists and the Society for the Preservation of Poultry Antiquities.
