Executives In Wales Use Coaches To Improve Performance
The use of executive coaching by organizations in Wales is growing as companies seek to improve their performance, according to icWales, the national web site of Wales. In the article, career consultant and executive coach Tony Charles, looks at the importance of good management skills in a changing global economy.

Dollars Spent On Personal Coaching Growing By 18% Per Year
Independent Research Firm, Marketdata Enterprises, Inc. released a 321-page market study entitled: The U.S. Market For Self-Improvement Products & Services. The study found that 40,000 people in the U.S. are life or work coaches and this $2.4 billion market is growing 18% per year. Marketdata Enterprises, Inc. also found that it’s becoming a status symbol to have a personal coach, even though there is no license required to become a coach, and the field is largely unregulated.

New York Times Features Executive Coach, Book Published By Harvard Business School Press
Executive Coach Kate Ludeman is making the media rounds promoting her new book “Alpha Male Syndrome,’’ written with her husband Eddie Erlandson. The New York Times features Ludeman in an interview about the book, published by Harvard Business School Press, which discusses the different ways men and women compete in the business world.

Professors Co-Author “The Coaching Organization: A Strategy for Developing Leaders”
“Coaching should be seen as more than just the latest business fad -- it should be seen as a potent tool for developing leaders," according to Babson College Professors James Hunt and Joseph Weintraub, authors of a new business book, “The Coaching Organization: A Strategy for Developing Leaders.” (Sage Publications, Inc. 2007) According to a press release sent over PR Newswire, the authors believe coaching, used strategically, is a low-cost and sometimes no-cost way to retain the best talent and to strengthen and grow organizations.
