Pioneers in Coaching: Timothy Gallwey, professional tennis coach, published The Inner Game of Tennis in 1974. This book blended performance principles from sports with humanistic and transpersonal psychology and personal growth. As a professional tennis coach, some of Tim's clients were corporate leaders and they saw the applicability of these principles to the business world. These principles were brought to business in 1980 by Tim Gallwey in the United States and Sir John Whitmore in the United Kingdom.
