William F. Harnisch is the CEO and owner of Peconic Partners, a New York based investment firm. He began his investment career at Chase Investors Management Corporation. In 1978, he joined Forstmann-Leff Associates, where he was CEO and Chief Investment Officer. Bill and his partners sold Forstmann-Leff for the second – and final – time in 1997. Bill has managed his long-short equity hedge fund since 1990. He was one of the first in the country to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a graduate of Baruch College, where he currently serves on the board of the Baruch College Fund, and sponsors a financial aid program for specially selected Harnisch Scholars. He is the president of the William F. Harnisch Foundation, which focuses on medical issues. He is married to Ruth Ann Harnisch, Co-Founder of The Foundation of Coaching. He has two adult children, with whom he enjoys black-diamond skiing. He hopes to land some big tuna on his boat, Anticipation III, either in the waters near his home in East Quogue, NY or his home in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. The Harnisches also maintain residences in New York City, Deer Valley (UT), and Nashville (TN).
